About DTC clear
DTC clear switches selected diagnostic trouble codes off in the File so that they do not come back — unlike clearing them with a scanner, which only empties the memory until the ECU runs the same check again. It exists for hardware that is no longer on the car: an EGR valve, a particulate filter, swirl flaps, a NOx or lambda sensor, glow-plug circuits, a module removed from the bus. It is not a way to hide a live fault; a code that points at a real problem should be fixed, not silenced.

DTC clear runs on the result File of a completed Solution Job, from the job list or the job detail. Open the job, search and select the codes, and download the updated File. It uses no Credits and can run up to 3 times per File; the Solution Job itself spends 1 Credit when processing completes. Emissions Solutions already retire the codes that belong to the removed system — DTC clear is for the codes that scan could not foresee, such as a sensor unplugged during the mechanical work.

A scanner empties the fault memory; the ECU runs the same check again and the code returns. DTC clear switches the selected codes off in the File so they do not come back.
Which codes can be switched off?
Codes that belong to hardware no longer on the car — EGR, DPF, swirl flaps, NOx or lambda sensors, glow plugs, removed modules. A code that points at a live fault should be fixed, not silenced.
