What a tuning file service is

A tuning file service delivers the processed File a workshop writes back to a control unit. The workshop reads the ECU with its own tool, sends the untouched original, says what the job needs — a Stage 1, DPF Removal, EGR Removal, AdBlue / SCR Removal, DTC clear — and receives a result File calibrated for that software version. It is how most workshops in Europe do ECU work: very few write their own maps, and the ones that do still buy Files for ECUs outside their speciality.

It is a different thing from a map-editor licence, which sells you software time and leaves the calibration to you, and from the Files that circulate on forums, which come without a known original, a known software version or anyone to call. How the FILHEX tuning file service works

1. Read the ECU with your own tool and keep the untouched original.
2. Upload and scan. Scan reads the binary, identifies Brand and ECU, and lists the Solutions that apply to that software version.
3. Select Solutions. Everything the job needs goes on one Solution Job.
4. Process. Automated, with live status in the app. The Credit is captured only when the job completes; a failed job returns it.
5. Download, compare, flash. The result File arrives with a download integrity check; compare it with the original in the Hex Editor, then write it with the same tool and route you used to read.

What you bring, what FILHEX delivers

The split is deliberate. You keep the read/write hardware, the vehicle, the diagnosis and the decision to flash — FILHEX never touches the car. FILHEX takes the binary from there: it runs the Solution Job for the Solutions you selected and delivers the result File back to you.

Mechanical work stays a workshop call, too. A File that assumes hardware has been removed while it is still fitted — or hardware removed without a matching File — is the common cause of limp mode and regeneration loops. Matching the File to the vehicle's actual state is your professional judgement, and emissions rules vary by country: DPF, EGR and AdBlue Solutions are not road-legal in most of Europe, and the workshop is responsible for legal use.
