Can't install from Microsoft Store?
Some PCs have no working Microsoft Store — for example Windows 10 IoT or LTSC editions, or PCs where Windows Update is turned off. The install then stays on "verifying" or never starts. Try this first:
- Press Win + R, type
wsreset.exeand press Enter. When Microsoft Store opens again, install FILHEX again. - Press Win + R, type
services.mscand check that Windows Update, Background Intelligent Transfer Service and Microsoft Store Install Service are not disabled.
Still not working? Use the FILHEX installer instead:
- Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because the installer is new. Select More info, then Run anyway.
- It installs FILHEX for your Windows user without administrator rights, and adds the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime if your PC lacks it.
- FILHEX keeps itself up to date: when you open it, it installs the latest version first.
- Keep one copy: if FILHEX from Microsoft Store is installed on the same PC, the installer's copy removes itself and you use the Store copy.
What happens next
- Install FILHEX from Microsoft Store and open it.
- Create a Workspace with your email address — in the app, or online here.
- Verify your email and sign in to the app — 5 free Credits are added to the wallet.
- Upload an original File and scan it: no Credit spent.
- Select Solutions and process for 1 Credit, then download the result File.
If a Solution Job fails, its Credit returns to your wallet automatically. Credits never expire; there is no subscription.
