About Adblue / SCR / NOX Removal
AdBlue / SCR Removal (AdBlue off, SCR delete, NOx off) retires the selective catalytic reduction strategy in the calibration — the system that doses urea into the exhaust to cut NOx, measures the result with NOx sensors, and locks the car when something in that chain fails. Workshops see it as NOx-sensor faults such as P20EE or P229F, dosing and heater faults, crystallised injectors, and the countdown on the dash that ends in a no-start. A new sensor or pump often costs more than an older vehicle is worth, which is where the request comes from.
What changes in the File
The calibration stops the dosing strategy, removes the NOx-sensor feedback from the control loop, retires the SCR fault logic, and disables the countdown and limp triggers that follow from it. Unplugging the pump or a sensor without the File produces exactly those codes and the countdown; the change has to be made in the ECU and must match the software version in front of you. Afterwards the tank is simply unused — topping it up never cleared a NOx-sensor fault anyway. Where the vehicle also has a DPF, the two systems' logic is often retired together.
Newer platforms
Late Euro 6 vehicles, dual-SCR systems and the newest ECU generations differ in what can be done in software. Scan decides: upload the original File and the app lists AdBlue / SCR Removal only when it is published for that software, before any Credit is spent.

Will the AdBlue countdown or no-start still appear after SCR Removal?
No — the File retires the dosing strategy, the NOx-sensor feedback and the countdown and limp triggers that depend on them. A countdown that remains usually means the File does not match the software version or the job was done by unplugging hardware instead of in the ECU.
Can I just unplug the AdBlue pump or the NOx sensor?
No. Unplugging without the File produces the sensor and dosing codes and the countdown. The change has to be made in the calibration and must match the software in front of you.
Do I still need AdBlue in the tank afterwards?
No. After a proper SCR Removal the tank is unused. Topping it up was never a fix for a NOx-sensor fault such as P20EE or P229F.
Does AdBlue / SCR Removal work on the newest Euro 6 vehicles?
