Credits vs subscription
How a tuning file service prices processed Files with Credits versus monthly editor seats. FILHEX: 1 Credit = 1 processed File, packs that do not expire.

Professional chiptuning has two very different cost shapes:
- Tools and editors you own (read/write hardware, calibration software licences).
- Processed Files you buy when you do not develop every map in-house — typically from a tuning file service.
File services commonly price the second shape per File or with prepaid Credits rather than as a monthly remap subscription.
FILHEX is that tuning file service model in one app. Service definition: what is a tuning file service? · commercial page: file service.
Why subscriptions hurt quiet weeks
A fixed monthly fee for “access” to a file portal (or for a seat of remapping software you barely open) bills the same whether you process two cars or forty. Seasonal dips, holidays, and spare-parts delays still hit the invoice.
Credits align cost with completed jobs: you buy capacity when paying customers are on the hoist.
How FILHEX defines a Credit
FILHEX uses a simple commercial unit:
1 Credit = 1 processed File (one completed Solution Job), regardless of how many Solutions you selected on that job.
- Scan does not spend Credits.
- DTC clear on a completed job does not use Credits.
- Packs are one-time, stackable, and do not expire.
- Each new Workspace receives 5 free Credits once its email is verified.
Current packs (Workspace Owner, in-app checkout):
- 1 Credit — €5
- 10 Credits — €40
- 50 Credits — €150
- 100 Credits — €200
That is transparent B2B file pricing — not a seat licence disguised as Credits. Pack list also on pricing.
What Credits are not
Credits are not:
- A map-editor subscription
- A replacement for your flash tool licence
- Upstream “provider allowance” language (that stays inside FILHEX operations)
You still need read/write equipment. FILHEX is the File service: upload, Solutions, download.
Choosing a pack
- Occasional jobs — small packs; try with the 5 free Credits first.
- Steady weekly volume — mid packs to lower € per Credit.
- Busy multi-bay shops — larger packs; still no monthly lock-in.
